IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

As we are nearing the time when teams will be accepted into this years's Area 11-L Spring Tournament, please be advised that a significant number of teams applying have chosen to "opt out" of providing referee support for the event.  As a result, the tournament administrators are undertaking the following options:

  1.  Soliciting "independent referees" to supplement those provided by teams that have applied to participate.

  2.  Giving preference to teams who are providing referees when the "teams ACCEPTED" list is generated, as per information posted.

Please go to the Documents page to read the Tournament Information Form.

To enter, click on both the Application and Roster links to the left or from the Documents page.

Fill out both forms online and follow the instructions given to submit your team's application.

THE 2011 AREA SPRING TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO THE  O.C. THIS YEAR

As many of you may know, the "old" John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex in Temecula, the home of our Area Spring Tournament for the past 7 years, closed down at the end of 2010.  The property owners had acquired a new location, with ambitious plans to have our tournament be the Opening Event for the new complex in May 2011.  Unfortunately, Murphy's law snuck in and as a result of regulatory and weather related issues, the opening of this new complex has been delayed, to a time frame at least 60 days beyond our usual May time frame.

Alternative complex options have been investigated and explored, but in each case, availability was for mid to late June, again beyond the normal timing for our tournament.  In addition, almost all who were "polled" as to the viability of moving the event to a later date responded with a desire to have the tournament remain in May, as the final Spring event, as has been the case since the inception of the Area Spring Tournament.

Consequently, we will use a variety of fields within the confines of Area 11-L to stage this year's tournament.  While we realize that we cannot duplicate Temecula, we are committed to being responsive to the timing issue and are confident that you will be supportive.

FYI, we are already booked to re-introduce the "Temecula Experience" in 2012.....bigger and better than it has ever been!

Thank you for being understanding of the challenges.....we look forward to receiving your team registrations.
